This is a review of the Disasters Emergency Committee work across East Africa.

Persistent drought during 2016-17 in Ethiopia, Kenya, and Somalia, and the ongoing conflict in South Sudan saw a serious escalation in humanitarian needs across the East Africa region. To support its 13 member agencies to respond to this, the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) launched an appeal, focusing on these countries. So far, the Appeal has raised £60 million, including £10 million UK Aid Match funding which the member agencies will spend over a period of up to two years.

This document covers humanitarian aid activities implemented with the financial assistance of Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC). The views expressed herein should not be taken, in any way, to reflect the official opinion of DEC, and DEC is not responsible for any use that may be made of the information it contains.
