Piloting Community - Based Management of Acute Malnutrition project in Ethiopia - Final evaluation
The Piloting Community-Based Management of Acute Malnutrition Project aimed to support the Ethiopian Government in the effective implementation of CMAM in Tigray Region.
The project has been supporting the Regional Health Bureau (RHB) in five woredas since 2009 with an intensive support package, supporting health posts as well as health centres.
This report outlines the findings from an independent evaluation of the project. The major findings were that: the project was overall relevant; treatment outcomes had broadly improved; despite a strong performance of therapeutic feeding reporting, some improvements linking to local government can still be made and; strong ownership by major stakeholders assisted in sustainability of the project, but suggestions for further success in this area were also made.
