The Zurich Flood Resilience Alliance

Flooding affects more people globally than any other type of natural hazard and causes some of the largest economic, social and humanitarian losses.

Communities lacking adequate toilets are especially vulnerable to water-borne diseases in the aftermath of flooding.

Concern is working in partnership with the Zurich Flood Resilience Alliance to improve the lives of communities affected by flooding in Bangladesh, Kenya, Malawi and South Sudan.

In January 2023, photographer Lisa Murray travelled to Kenya to document how the Zurich Flood Resilience Programme impacted one community.
